About the Role
Melissa Renee Agency is seeking a meticulous and organized Bookkeeper to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, managing invoices, and ensuring accuracy in all financial transactions.
Responsibilities:
1. Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
2. Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger
3. Bring the books to the trial balance stage
4. Perform partial checks of the posting process
5. Complete tax forms
6. Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements
7. Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner
Skills:
- Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
Compensation:
Pay Rate: $20 - $25/ hour depending on experience
Paid weekly
1099 position

Requirements
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry
Excellent organizational and time management skills
High school diploma required; additional certification in Bookkeeping or Accounting is a plus
